Early College High School

HBCU Recruitment Fair *ECHS alumni Jaelyn Graves attended this college fair last year and was accepted to multiple HBCUs on the spot.  Jaelyn is now attending Tuskegee University in Alabama.  I tagged her in a tweet this week and she responded with some advice for the ECHS students. \ ECHS Student of the Week This is a new feature I am adding to the blog each week.  12th grade student Elya Kandahari is our first ECHS student of the week.  Elya did such an amazing job last semester in her college Chem 1 class!  Elya's professor reported that she finished the class with a 98% overall grade....

Tutoring Support Our goal at Early College High School is to prepare each and every student to be able to get into and graduate from a 4-year university.  We want every student to meet the A-G college entrance requirements.  It is very important that our students earn a C or higher in every class (high school and college).  We ensure there are supports as needed in order to assist students to achieve these goals. School After School Our ECHS teachers are here to support students with their high school classes after school on Monday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00.  We started yesterday and we would like to see more students take advantage of this support.   Freshman Intervention We have arranged to have classroom 443 (upstairs in the 400 building) every Friday from 10:00-11:00 to support students.  This is during 5th period which every 9th grader has free on Fridays.  School Counselor Mae Valles will be there every week to...

We are off to a great start here at ECHS! SCC Graduation  Congratulations again to the ECHS students who graduated from SCC on May 24th! FSUSD Highest Honors Last night was the FSUSD Highest Honors Award Ceremony.  This ceremony is for students graduating high school with an average GPA of 4.0 or higher.  With the Solano College courses getting an extra grade bump like an honors or AP class, we had 6 students earn Highest Honors status. Congratulations to Jeremy Good, Joel Perez, Trinity So, Olivia Matsumoto-Elliot, Sara Hobson, and Adelina Liew all graduating with a 4.0 or higher!
