We are off to a great start here at ECHS!

Welcome



We are very excited to add Melissa Nance to the ECHS staff! 
Ms. Nance is teaching English 9, US History, and 10th Grade College Readiness.


                                 
Orientation



We would like to thank Deputy Russell for coming to speak to us at orientation.  We are so grateful for our strong partnership with the Solano County Sheriffs.  The Sheriffs are always on campus and can be reached on their office phone (707-864-7131) as well as the on duty cell (707-580-6526).  



It was a pleasure meeting new students and speaking with so many parents.  We will be back at Rodriguez High School in the library for ECHS Parent Information Nights next month.  

11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is at 6:00pm on Sept. 6th.  

9th-10th grade Parent Information Night is at 6:00pm on Sept. 13th.




Pegasus Mentors



All of the 9th grade students have been matched up with a Pegasus Mentor.  These amazing mentors will be checking in with the 9th grade students to help and support them throughout their first year in the program.  



Class of 2019

On the first day back the seniors toasted to the new school year.  The students are setting goals and are ready to make this their best year yet!




1st Day of High School Classes





We had the cafeteria to ourselves on Wednesday.  The students enjoyed having some extra time to interacted with each other with no college classes to worry about.  



1st Day of College

Monday the students start their college classes.  I have visited every class and talked to the students about their college textbooks.  The students are expected to attend the first class session and then submit a google form to me so I can make sure we get them everything they need for class.

ECHS Back to School Nights It's almost time for Back to School Night. We do things a little differently than other schools.  The ECHS team hosts 3 nights (based on grade level) and provides a presentation for parents and guardians. At the conclusion of the presentation, we open it up for families to ask individual questions to our staff members.  If you are unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be available for families to view at their convenience.  Our first night is tomorrow 8/24 from 6:00-7:30pm for 9th-grade families.  Our 10th-grade night is on 8/26 and our 11th-12th grade night is on 8/31. *Masks are required for everyone inside all buildings at Solano College.   Math Support I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. Freitas' Math class last week.  The students were doing a hands-on activity from our Math Carnegie curriculum and we work in small groups.   We have additional after-school support for students who need Math help every Monday and Thursda

Parent Information Nights Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm here on campus in the 1400 cafeteria building is our 9th-10th grade Parent Information Night. Each teacher will give a short presentation followed by a chance for parents to ask individual questions.  We look forward to seeing everyone from 6:00-7:30pm Monday night!  *11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is on Monday, September 16th at 6:00pm. Student Social Today we held an after school social and had an amazing turnout!  The students enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and just hanging out with each other.  We want to thank the Leadership students for planning such a fun event! HBCU College Fair This Sunday there is a HBCU College Fair from 4:00-7:00pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.  This event is open to all students and we have had multiple ECHS stud ents attend this fair in the past and get admitted into multiple colleges on the spot!  FSUSD Governing Board

 Power Outage Friday morning sure was interesting at ECHS!  We went from extremely hot weather earlier in the week to a colder Friday morning with some rain, lightning, and thunder.  We were without power on parts of the campus for the zero period, first period, and part of the 3rd period.  We did our best by moving a couple classes into the cafeteria, using natural light, and placing emergency flashlight lanterns in classrooms.  I really appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by our staff and students.   National Suicide Prevention Day Friday was National Suicide Prevention Day.  Daily Reminder cards were passed out to students with positive messages.  Students and staff also wore teal and purple to show support.   We are very excited to announce that we will be bringing Kaiser Permanente's Ghosted program to ECHS for the first time later this semester.  Ghosted is a program that reduces stigma and encourages open discussion, to help teens understand they are not alo
