It was great seeing so many ECHS students out at the FSUSD College Fair Tuesday Night!  There were representatives there from everywhere from UC Berkeley to Michigan State.  Thursday we had our first fire drill.  The ECHS classes did a great job!  There will be an earthquake drill coming up soon. The Senior class is planning on entering a Scarecrow in a Rotary Competition.  The Senior class club met Thursday at lunch to make the design plan.  Early College will also be participating in FSUSD Trunk of Treat event this year.  Independent Study PE teachers Mr. Gore and Ms. Cordes will be coming out to Solano College on Tuesday next week.  They will be checking in with all the PE students to discuss health and fitness, review class assignments, and answer any questions the students might have.  There is still time to pay for the PSAT which is taking place on October 14, at Rodriguez High School.  We ran out of student booklets but t

The Child Nutrition Department sent out letters and meal applications earlier this month.  If you want to apply for the school district lunch program the deadline is 9/27/17.  Please let me know if you have questions or need support with this.  Everyday lunches are delivered to Solano College from the school district to students who order them or are in the lunch program. 10th grade College Readiness students were doing presentations Monday morning in Ms. Turgeon-Staggs class.  Students used examples from the movie Shrek and demonstrated how they increased the level of questions.  The goal was to raise the depth of knowledge.   Tuesday was the first ECHS Parent Group Meeting.  It was great hearing input from parents and sharing ideas and plans for upcoming events.  If you missed the meeting and would like to get involved the next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 2:00-3:00 in room 1635.  A few things discussed were a coll

The 12th grade students got to school at 6:00am, played music, ate breakfast together, and took pictures.  This is such an amazing group of students! Wednesday we held our first ECHS Parent Information Night for parents of 9th and 10th grade students.  We had an excellent turnout and it was a pleasure speaking with many parents after the presentations.   We are looking forward to next Wednesday, Sept. 20th for the 11th and 12th grade parent night.   A couple of important dates that Ms. Mae shared at Parent Night are: October 16 Solano College Releases the Spring Semester Class Schedules online October 25 Ms. Mae will hold a Counselor Info. I had the pleasure of visiting the ECHS Leadership meeting during lunch.  I continue to be so impressed by our students.  There was standing room only in classroom.  It is so important for students to get involved in extra activities and so many of our students are doing amazing things.  The students were discussing and planning ECHS activities, fundraisers, and homecoming.  The ECHS students will be joining their peers at RHS to put on Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Homecoming Skits during halftime at the RHS football game on Oct. 20th.   Fridays are a little different around campus, as there aren't too many college classes taking place.  It feels like we have the place to ourselves at times on Fridays.  Here are a few pics that 11th grade ECHS Noah Singleton took during lunch.   Missy Vallejo from the College and Career Center at RHS came and spoke with the 12th grade students today during College Readiness.  She reviewed wit
