Senior Project Pitches

The seniors are hard at work getting ready to make their Senior Project Pitches starting next week.  We are looking for parent volunteers from any grade level to come in and be part of the panels.  Mr. Voyce said, "This is where the seniors put together a presentation of their idea, tell us a little bit about themselves, and why the project idea is a good fit for them.  It's helpful to the students to have a range of perspectives for feedback and "have you considered?" brainstorms."  You don't have to be a parent of a 12th grader.  We are looking for parents of all grade levels to come and join us.  All ECHS students will do a Senior Project in 12th grade.  This is a great way to see what's coming down the road for your student if they aren't in 12th grade yet.  If you can make it to one or more of the following sessions please send me an email (johnpi@fsusd.org) so I can add you to the guest list.  *All guests must check in the office and show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test before entering the classrooms.

Session 1 Nov. 4th 10:00-11:50am

Session 2 Nov. 9th 10:00-11:50am

Session 3 Nov. 16th 10:00-11:50am

Session 4 Nov. 18th 10:00-11:50am

2021 Constitution Essay Contest

We had 77 ECHS students submit essays in the 10th Annual Solano County Constitution Essay Contest from Mrs. Williamson and Mrs. Nance's classes.  ECHS was the big winner this year!  We are getting a framed reproduction of the U.S. Constitution to display on campus.

Congratulations to Stephanie Choi!  Stephanie won the Grand Prize and Best of School Award.  She is receiving $800.

We also want to congratulate Jack Flynn, Paulos Waiyaki, and Tyler Walker!  They won the Founders' Choice Award and will each receive $50.

These students will all be honored at a rewards luncheon Saturday, November 6th at the Benicia Grill.

Ghosted

We are pleased to announce that the Kaiser Permanente Ghosted program is coming virtually to ECHS starting Monday.  We are starting with 10th graders and then we are moving into the rest of the grade levels throughout November and the beginning of December.  Every student at ECHS will have the opportunity to participate in the Ghosted program during their College Readiness class time.  The 10th graders were given the Student and Parent Ghosted guides to bring home to share earlier this week.

Through the Ghosted program student learn to:

-Develop skills to talk about stress, anxiety, and depression.

-Identify healthy coping and resilience-building strategies.

-Access resources for mental health support.

-Combat stigma by creating a culture of acceptance and support for mental health.

Here is a copy of the Parent Guide.  Please let me know if you have any questions about the program.  Thanks
