Appropriate Dress

We have been discussing appropriate dress during College Readiness classes, have held a student forum, and we have issued some individual students warning regarding appropriate dress on campus.  Even though we are located on a college campus, we are an FSUSD high school program and the expectation is that students are dressed appropriately for school.

Here is the language from our FSUSD Administrative Regulations:

The following guidelines shall apply to all regular school activities:

1.         Clothing, jewelry, and personal items shall be free of writing, pictures, or any other insignia which is vulgar, lewd, obscene, profane, or sexually suggestive or which promotes the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or other illegal activity.

2.         Appropriate shoes must be worn at all times.

3.         Clothes shall be sufficient to conceal undergarments. See-through tops and bare abdomens are prohibited.

Counselor Information Nights

Thank you to everyone who attended one of Mrs. Mae's Counselor Information nights.  We had an excellent turnout at both the 9th-10th grade parent night and the 11th-12th grade parent night.  If you missed it, Mrs. Mae has made a special recording for parents.

9th and 10th-grade parents, here is the link to the slides Mrs. Mae reviewed as well as a link to her video presentation.

Student of the Week

11th grader Austin Krieg is one of the ECHS students of the week.  Austin loves playing chess and has joined our new Chess Club.  He also enjoys biking and building computers.  In addition to his high school classes, Austin's taking Multicultural Music as his college class. Mrs. Pratt nominated Austin for this recognition because of his hard work in Chemistry.  Austin had to miss multiple classes and has come back and not only caught up but is excelling in Chemistry class.  Great job Austin!

9th grader Jennifer Guzman Mendoza is also one of the ECHS Students of the Week.  She is a member of the Robotics Club, GSA, and Key Club.  This semester she is taking Counseling 007 and next semester plans to take American Sign Language.  Mr. Voyce nominated Jennifer for this recognition for her hard work and determination in Biology class. Great job Jennifer!
