Academic Decathlon
Student of the Week
This week we are honoring Leslie Cortez and Alex Torres Chimal as ECHS students of the week. Both Leslie and Alex have chosen to join the military to serve our country after high school. Leslie has joined the Navy as Aviation Support Equipment Technician. Alex has joined the Marines and will serve in the Infantry. We are proud of both Leslie and Alex for what they have achieved at ECHS and that they have chosen to serve our country after high school!
Black History Month
Join us in the back cafeteria room on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during lunch for events/activities to celebrate Black History Month. Thursday we are honored to announce that we have a guest speaker coming for our Arts/Poetry event. Our FSUSD Attendance Liason, Genea Brice, will be here to speak with students and read some poems on stage. Genea Brice was the first Poet Laureate of Vallejo!
Stop the Bleed
We had 33 students attend the Stop the Bleed training last week along with Mrs. Latrous and Mrs. Mae. These students learned valuable life-saving techniques. We are getting a Stop the Bleed safety kit in every classroom and will hold this training every year so we are best prepared in case of an emergency. Thank you to all who attended and participated.
ECHS Parent Group
Our next ECHS Parent Group meeting will take place online instead of in person. The meeting will take place through Google Meet on February 16th at 5:30pm. Please email me (johnpi@fsusd.org) if you would like to attend and I will send you a Google Meet calendar invite. As always, these meetings are open to all ECHS parents and guardians who would like to hear about things taking place at ECHS, provide feedback, ask questions, and help plan future events.
