Attendance and Work Permits

If students miss a live class session please contact Mrs. Harris as she will document the absence in Aeries.  We also ask that the students follow up with their teachers when they miss class.  Students can still get attendance credit for their high school classes if they complete the asynchronous work and we don't want them to fall behind.  Mrs. Harris also helps with work permits, transcripts, and so much more.

Click Here for UC SAT Information:

·         UC will be "test-optional" for fall 2021 and fall 2022. Freshman applicants are not required to submit SAT/ACT test scores.

·         Fall 2023 and Fall 2024 enrollment admission to the UC will be "test-blind" for applicants. UC won't use your test scores to make admissions decisions.

Click Here for CSU SAT Information

A note for fall 2021 first-time freshman: The California State University (CSU) has temporarily suspended the use of ACT/SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses for the 2021-2022 academic year. This temporary change of admission eligibility applies only for the fall 2021, winter 2022 and spring 2022 admission cycles.

SAT Website: https://pages.collegeboard.org/sat-covid-19-updates

Registration for all SAT tests is open for all students. Please visit https://www.collegeboard.org/ to register for the SAT.

If you are unable to find a seat in a test center near you, please check other dates.

Please know that colleges understand that there are limited opportunities for students to take a college entrance exam due to covid. Most colleges are not requiring a test score for the upcoming admissions cycle. While almost all still accept scores, most are rightfully being flexible for students who submit scores later or who did not have a chance to test more than once. You should check the college’s website for the most updated information on their application requirements.

Eligible students can register with a fee waiver. Please contact your school counselor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mae Valles
School Counselor

Lunch Hangouts

Our students have been letting us know how much they miss lunch time and even passing periods during distance learning where they were able to just to talk with friends, make new connections, and just hang out with each other.  Our campus monitor, Elvira Preciado (Ms. P), is going to start opening up Google Meets daily during lunch starting Monday.  She sent out an invite to the students earlier today for Monday and is excited about meeting the ECHS students and providing a space for students to get together online.  We are thinking about having a theme each day or breakout rooms where students can talk about movies, music, video games, anime, sports, etc.  We are reaching out to HOPE club and Leadership for more theme ideas and are open if any student wants to suggest an idea.  There is no theme for Monday so students, if you are interested in just jumping in to say hi and hang out click the link from 12:00-12:45 Monday.

Student of the Week

11th grader Logan Jenkins is the ECHS student of the week.  Logan joined Leadership class this year and his hard work is not going unnoticed with his work on the Celebrations Committee.  His teachers report that he is doing an excellent job in his high school classes.  He has completed 24 college units and has an overall 3.43 college GPA.  Logan is taking Introduction to Computer Science and Algebra for Calculus.  Great job Logan!
