Orientation

We really appreciate the support we have on campus from the Solano County Sheriffs.  We want to thank Lt. Brian Travis again for speaking to us at orientation.  We highly encourage the students to download the Solano Safe App in case of emergencies.  The students also have access to our full-time Campus Monitor, Ms. Davis (aka Ms. D) if they ever need support.

ECHS Drop Zone

New this year is the ECHS Drop Zone.  The campus sheriffs highly encourage parents to use the designated area in the large parking lot to the right of the 300 building, as this will help with the flow of traffic in the morning and help keep the students safe.  There is also a new crosswalk for students to use who get dropped off in the ECHS Drop Zone.

1st Day of School

Leadership students met at 7:00 am and planned out supports to provide the new ECHS students.

The freshman arrived and took selfies with their mentors before making it to their first high school class.

The school year has officially started.  Below are the 9th grader's 1st period classes on their first day of high school.

Seniors

The seniors toasted to a new year in their College Readiness classes.  They sure have a lot of exciting things in store for them this year!

ECHS Office

We finally have an ECHS office!  If you haven't stopped in, feel free to come by anytime through door 309 in the 300 building on campus.  We are also so thrilled to have Secretary, Susan Harris here on campus full-time.  Students and parents now have a place to come in for information, sign out, pick up lunch, sign up to see their counselor, and more.

ECHS Magazine

The ECHS magazine is on sale now in the office for $25.  This is our version of a yearbook for our program.  It is student produced and contains lots of color photos from all the amazing events that take place throughout the year.  Every student will also have their photo in the magazine.

Food Service

We don't have breakfast service but lunch is delivered daily to ECHS from the RHS kitchen.  The SCC cafeteria will also be selling breakfast and lunch starting Monday.  Here is the FSUSD-ECHS lunch menu for August-October.

Thursday and Friday

I was off campus for most of Thursday and Friday for administrator retreat/training days.  Sounds like everything went well on campus.  The freshman finished their three days of boot-camp with School Counselor, Ms. Mae Valles during 5th and 6th periods and all the students are ready for next week when the college classes begin.

School After School

We will begin our School After School support next week on Monday, August 12th.  We will start with Math support and then expand into other subjects later in the school year.  School After School runs Monday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00pm.

Upcoming Events

* Friday, August 16th we will have a social event after school from 3:30-5:00 at the SCC football stadium.  The Leadership students  are planning to have refreshments, games, and music for everyone.  This event is open to all students.  We hope to see you there!

* ECHS Club Rush will be held next week on Friday, August 16th during student lunch.  Student representatives will be at tables in the back cafeteria room to discuss the clubs and take signups.  I highly encourage every student to join at least one club.

* SCC has a club promo event next week as well.  ECHS students are also SCC students and are welcome to join a college club if they would like.

* School picture make-up day is August 27th from 11:30-12:30 in the back room in the SCC cafeteria.

* We are hosting a Parent Mixer on Monday, August 19th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the SCC cafeteria.  This is a great way for parents to meet each other, set up carpools, and learn more about our monthly parent group.  Thank you to our Parent Leader, Marilyn Barker for setting this up.  Our next two Parent Group meetings after the mixer will be Sept. 23rd and Oct. 21 from 6:00-7:00 pm.

* Parent Leader Marilyn Barker also runs an ECHS Parent Facebook page for parents to connect with each other and ask each other questions.

* Friday, August 30th is the first RHS home football game.

Parent Information Nights

We don't have the traditional Back-To-School Night here at ECHS.  We do have Parent Information Nights where the teachers present information from their classes to the whole group and then answer individual questions from parents.

9th & 10th grade Parent Information Night is scheduled for Monday, September 9th at 6:00 pm at SCC

11th & 12th grade Parent Information Night is scheduled for Monday, September 16th at 6:00 pm at SCC

Next Week

College classes begin Monday.  We will be running our regular class schedules.  We are looking forward to another great week and a wonderful year at Early College High School!
