12/1

Tomorrow, December 2nd, Early College will be participating in Ringing the Bells.  We will be outside the doors at Macy's (downstairs near Best Buy) from 10:00am-6:30pm.  Ms.Williamson, Ms. Freitas, Ms. Turgeon-Staggs, and I will be with the ECHS students that signed up for 1 hour shifts.

Please stop by to see us and bring any spare change that you would like to donate to the Salvation Army.  Last year was the first year of this event and ECHS brought in the most money out of all the participating schools.  We were awarded a trophy that we hope to hold onto for another year.  I will be out there with students for the first shift, from 10:00-12:30. Hope to see a lot of people stopping by!

We are participating in a canned food drive to support the local food bank as well as collecting toys for Toys for Tots.  If you would like to contribute, please send cans and/or new unwrapped toys to school with your students.

We love to support people in need  here at ECHS!

Next week is the last regular school week for ECHS students before College Finals Week (Dec. 11th-15th), followed by High School Finals Week (Dec. 18th-20th).

We are making sure the students all have their plans made for next semester's college classes.  Special admission forms should be turned in and the students are being asked to check their Solano accounts to make sure they are ready to add their courses on our registration date and time, Monday, December 11th at 9:30am.

If you have any questions on the registration process or your student's four year plan, please reach out to School Counselor, Mae Valles or me.

Here is a message from our High School College and Career Tech, Melissa Vallejo regarding an upcoming Cash4College event.

Students and Parents:
Our annual Finanical Aid 'Cash4College' event will be on Thursday, December 7th from 6:00-7:30pm in the RHS LibraryNaomi Follett, of Solano Community College will be presenting important details about applying for financial aid along with the answers to your most difficult questions.
Seniors-Some students have completed their FAFSA applications. For those of you that have not begun the application or completed it-Please attend this very informative evening. It is important that everyone apply for FAFSA whether you think you'll need it or not. Some students receive CAL Grants, some receive PELL Grants, some receive assistance in the form of loans. There is 10 months time between now and the start of College~ anything can happen financially in this crazy world-be better prepared-not sorry that you didn't think to apply.
Not heading to a 4 year University? Community Colleges and Career Tech schools also accept financial aid to help with costs. (Sometimes housing and books are covered!)
Juniors-Parents & Students-Come and get prepared for the October 1st, 2018 application time for your class of '19 Senior year as we approach this important tax season. With this session, you shouldn't have many questions come October.
Sophomore & Freshman-Never too early to plan your financial future! You are all welcome to come and ask questions as you are prepping your student for preparing for College & how costs can be covered with Aid.
Student with disabilities? Completing the FAFSA is an important step in making sure you receive funds to assist you with any educational plans you will transition to after graduation.
We'll see you next week!
