Special Schedule on Tuesday


Tuesday, September 7th, we will be on our 1, 3, 5, 2, 4, 6 Friday schedule.  We use this schedule on Tuesdays that follow a Monday holiday.  Students, if you have a live college class (in person or via zoom) that conflicts with a high school class, please let your high school teacher know.  Your teacher will excuse you so you can attend your college classes as scheduled.



Lunchtime


Students, please wear your mask at all times in the cafeteria.  The only exception is if you are seated and you are eating or drinking.  After you finish eating or drinking put your mask back on.  Please do not walk around with your mask off inside any building on campus.  No eating and drinking while walking around without a mask indoors, please eat at a table.  We want to reduce the risk of spreading COVID.  We encourage you to get a free lunch and then eat outside if possible.

Military Academies


Students, if you are interested in the United States Military Academies please register for this upcoming virtual event.  We have two ECHS alums currently at West Point US Military Academy; Jeremy Good, ECHS Class of 2018, and Phoenix Sheppard, ECHS Class of 2020.  Students, if you would like more information about the military or military academies please schedule an appointment with our College and Career Tech Danica Matthews.  







PSAT/SAT


Hello ECHS Students and Parents-

This is the latest update/information as it pertains to PSAT testing locations, see below for details and information. 

  • At this time the PSAT is not currently being offered in our High Schools and the Fairfield/Suisun Zip Codes(94533/94534/94585). 
  • To sign up for the PSAT, you MUST locate a school and or location that is offering the test and sign up through them directly. You are unable to register for the PSAT through collegeboard.org 
  • To check and see what locations are offering the PSAT, please go to this website https://ordering.collegeboard.org/testordering/publicSearch and either enter in a Zip Code and/or City.
  • I can tell you from what I have researched, it looks like Benicia High School and Justin Siena High School in Napa are offering the PSAT on October 13th. * Again you would have to contact the schools directly to see if they have space available and if they are opening up testing to students from outside of their district. 
  • If your student is an 11th grader I highly suggest that they look at taking the SAT in the spring. They can spend this time during the fall studying and using the practice test materials that are offered online through https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat
  • Students may also practice/study through Khan Academy here: https://www.khanacademy.org/SAT

Parents, our first ECHS Parent Group meeting will be on Thursday, September 16th from 5:30-6:30pm in the SCC cafeteria (building 1400).  These meetings are open to all ECHS parents.  Please come if you'd like to hear about things happening at ECHS, give feedback, and help plan future events.  I hope to see you there!

ECHS Back to School Nights It's almost time for Back to School Night. We do things a little differently than other schools.  The ECHS team hosts 3 nights (based on grade level) and provides a presentation for parents and guardians. At the conclusion of the presentation, we open it up for families to ask individual questions to our staff members.  If you are unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be available for families to view at their convenience.  Our first night is tomorrow 8/24 from 6:00-7:30pm for 9th-grade families.  Our 10th-grade night is on 8/26 and our 11th-12th grade night is on 8/31. *Masks are required for everyone inside all buildings at Solano College.   Math Support I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. Freitas' Math class last week.  The students were doing a hands-on activity from our Math Carnegie curriculum and we work in small groups.   We have additional after-school support for students who need Math help every Monday and Thursda

Parent Information Nights Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm here on campus in the 1400 cafeteria building is our 9th-10th grade Parent Information Night. Each teacher will give a short presentation followed by a chance for parents to ask individual questions.  We look forward to seeing everyone from 6:00-7:30pm Monday night!  *11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is on Monday, September 16th at 6:00pm. Student Social Today we held an after school social and had an amazing turnout!  The students enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and just hanging out with each other.  We want to thank the Leadership students for planning such a fun event! HBCU College Fair This Sunday there is a HBCU College Fair from 4:00-7:00pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.  This event is open to all students and we have had multiple ECHS stud ents attend this fair in the past and get admitted into multiple colleges on the spot!  FSUSD Governing Board

 Power Outage Friday morning sure was interesting at ECHS!  We went from extremely hot weather earlier in the week to a colder Friday morning with some rain, lightning, and thunder.  We were without power on parts of the campus for the zero period, first period, and part of the 3rd period.  We did our best by moving a couple classes into the cafeteria, using natural light, and placing emergency flashlight lanterns in classrooms.  I really appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by our staff and students.   National Suicide Prevention Day Friday was National Suicide Prevention Day.  Daily Reminder cards were passed out to students with positive messages.  Students and staff also wore teal and purple to show support.   We are very excited to announce that we will be bringing Kaiser Permanente's Ghosted program to ECHS for the first time later this semester.  Ghosted is a program that reduces stigma and encourages open discussion, to help teens understand they are not alo
