 Solano College Vaccination Mandate

On September 15th the Solano Community College (SCC) Board of Trustees approved a vaccination and face-covering mandate.  Students taking in-person college classes will need to submit their vaccination cards or begin COVID testing weekly with the college.  There will be no charge for the weekly testing.

*This does not apply to ECHS students on campus taking in-person high school classes and online college classes.

The Spring 2022 college schedule is not out yet but we know there will be both in-person and online options for college classes here at SCC.  Students who would like to take the in-person college classes will need to follow the procedures outlined above.

For more information please visit https://welcome.solano.edu/

Solano College is offering free vaccines on Sunday, Sept. 26th at the Vallejo campus.

*If you have any questions about our school district COVID protocols please visit www.fsusd.org/covid.  On our website, you can access our Communication Tree/Protocol, COVID Dashboard, FAQs, and more.  You can also contact me at johnpi@fsusd.org if you have questions.

College Readiness

Mrs. Nance's 11th grade College Readiness classes worked well together in their tutorial groups this week to collaborate and support each other with their classes.  We are really impressed with the level of engagement in the lessons and the hard work the students are putting forth!

Senior Sunrise

The ECHS Class of 2022 Senior Sunrise was a hit!  The 12th graders arrived at the SCC stadium this morning between 6:00-6:30am to spend time as a class listening to music and taking pictures.  This is a traditional event that we do with the seniors in the fall and then hold a sunset event in the spring.

Homecoming

Next week the homecoming football game is on Friday night vs Armijo.  This is always the highest attended game of the year.  Students and parents are welcome to attend but please plan to get there early to secure a seat on the home side. The JV game is at 5:15 and Varsity starts at 7:30pm.  ID cards are required for students to enter the stadium.

The Homecoming dance is scheduled for next Saturday.  Tickets are now sold out as we reached the capacity of 800 students.  If you missed out on purchasing a ticket, we are exploring the idea of holding an ECHS dance in November. Additionally, RHS plans to hold a winter dance in February. More information on those events will be provided as we get closer to those dates.

ECHS Student Clubs

We have more students than ever attending clubs during lunchtime at ECHS.  Check out this picture from Wednesday's Key Club meeting.  It is never too late to join a club!

The students starting up the Muslim Student Association (MSA) wanted to share their Google Classroom Code with the ECHS students, all are welcome to join: c7wglkq

Progress Reports

Our first progress report grades will be posted next week.  This is an opportunity for parents to see high school grades and for students to reflect on the progress they are making.  We will be reaching out and offering support to students who aren't passing a high school class.

There are no progress reports for college classes so we are counting on the students letting us know if they are struggling or need support in any way.  The SCC tutoring center is now open on Monday and Thursdays in the 100 building.  Students, please come and see me or your counselor Mrs. Mae if you have questions about tutoring or need help with college classes.
