Senior Project Showcase

We want to invite all parents to come to ECHS on Friday, May 3rd for the 2nd Annual Senior Project Showcase.  The seniors have been working hard all year on completing their projects and will be showing them off to the 9th-11th grade students, parents, and community members from 1:00-3:00 in back room in the SCC 1400 cafeteria building.  We hope to see you there!


Magazine





Next week is the last week that the ECHS magazine is going to be on sale.  The magazine is the ECHS version of a yearbook.  It will be filled with color pictures and can be bought for only $30.  Cash or check will be accepted.  For checks, please be sure to include your driver's license and make it payable to RHS.

 Students can buy the magazine before school, during lunch, or after school from me or Ms. Williamson through Friday, May 3rd.


Challenge Day





We held our first ever Challenge Day here at ECHS today.  The 10th and 11th grade students and staff reported that it was an emotional day but a really great experience.  We are already making plans to hold another Challenge Day event for the 9th graders to be able to participate in the fall.  








ECHS Student Representative




Leadership president Isabella Biscocho serves as our student representative.  She made her second presentation to the FSUSD Governing Board last night and did an excellent job!  Isabella reported out about the recent activities that have taken place at ECHS including the rally, paint night, karaoke night, poetry competitions, art shows, and more.  There is sure a lot going on at ECHS!
Academic Success

At the next FSUSD School Board meeting on May 9th, 18 ECHS students will be honored for completing one or more AA degrees from Solano College while in high school.

We will have a total of 24 ECHS students participating in the SCC graduation ceremony on May 23rd.  In addition to the 18 students who will have completed their degrees, 6 more ECHS students will be finishing their required coursework for their SCC degrees over the summer.

We are so proud of all the ECHS seniors!  Every student is on track to graduate from high school and as a class the 43 seniors are on track to have earned an average of 52.95 college units at the end of this semester.

ECHS Back to School Nights It's almost time for Back to School Night. We do things a little differently than other schools.  The ECHS team hosts 3 nights (based on grade level) and provides a presentation for parents and guardians. At the conclusion of the presentation, we open it up for families to ask individual questions to our staff members.  If you are unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be available for families to view at their convenience.  Our first night is tomorrow 8/24 from 6:00-7:30pm for 9th-grade families.  Our 10th-grade night is on 8/26 and our 11th-12th grade night is on 8/31. *Masks are required for everyone inside all buildings at Solano College.   Math Support I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. Freitas' Math class last week.  The students were doing a hands-on activity from our Math Carnegie curriculum and we work in small groups.   We have additional after-school support for students who need Math help every Monday and Thursda

Parent Information Nights Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm here on campus in the 1400 cafeteria building is our 9th-10th grade Parent Information Night. Each teacher will give a short presentation followed by a chance for parents to ask individual questions.  We look forward to seeing everyone from 6:00-7:30pm Monday night!  *11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is on Monday, September 16th at 6:00pm. Student Social Today we held an after school social and had an amazing turnout!  The students enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and just hanging out with each other.  We want to thank the Leadership students for planning such a fun event! HBCU College Fair This Sunday there is a HBCU College Fair from 4:00-7:00pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.  This event is open to all students and we have had multiple ECHS stud ents attend this fair in the past and get admitted into multiple colleges on the spot!  FSUSD Governing Board

 Power Outage Friday morning sure was interesting at ECHS!  We went from extremely hot weather earlier in the week to a colder Friday morning with some rain, lightning, and thunder.  We were without power on parts of the campus for the zero period, first period, and part of the 3rd period.  We did our best by moving a couple classes into the cafeteria, using natural light, and placing emergency flashlight lanterns in classrooms.  I really appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by our staff and students.   National Suicide Prevention Day Friday was National Suicide Prevention Day.  Daily Reminder cards were passed out to students with positive messages.  Students and staff also wore teal and purple to show support.   We are very excited to announce that we will be bringing Kaiser Permanente's Ghosted program to ECHS for the first time later this semester.  Ghosted is a program that reduces stigma and encourages open discussion, to help teens understand they are not alo
