ECHS student Casey Davis has been nominated for a Solano/Napa Counties Arty Award for Best Supporting Actor in a musical for the Rodriguez High School production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!

The Arty's 34th Annual Gala is on October 7th.  Good luck Casey we are proud of you for your amazing performance last May! 


ECHS Parent Support
Last night we had 9th and 10th grade Parent Information Night.  Parents got a chance to hear from each of the ECHS teachers along with School Counselor Ms. Mae.  Below is everyone's email addresses if you have any follow up questions.

There are also two Counselor Parent Support Nights in October.  Both sessions will be held in the Rodriguez High School Library from 6:00-7:00 pm.  

Oct 1 - 11th & 12th Graders - Ms. Valles will talk about Naviance Access and using it for College Applications and Scholarship Applications. She will also cover UC/CSU applications and how the IGETC relates to that. 

Oct 15 - 9th & 10th Graders - Ms. Valles will go over high school graduation requirements, understanding the 4-year plan, what A-G means and how IGETC is used in A-G and high school graduation.

*High School transcripts will be updated with GPA weights and will be available for pickup by parents at both nights.



 Maker Space

A group of our 9th grade students had the opportunity to spend two hours in the Maker Space Lab with Professor Karen Cook.  The students got to do a project with the 3D and laser printing machines.  The rest of the 9th grade class along with others, will get a chance to visit the Maker Space Lab on upcoming Fridays.  Solano College is also offering multiple 1 unit Maker Space courses that will be taking place after 3:00 pm.  I'll keep you posted as those classes become available.













 ECHS Parent Group
Last school year we started a parent group at ECHS.  It was small group of parents that I met with once a month to discuss ECHS goals, budget, data, and to plan events like the Senior Awards Ceremony.  The group met at 2:00 pm last year, but I would like to move it to 6:00 pm to give more parents an opportunity to get involved. Our first meeting of the year will be Monday, Sept. 24 in room 1104,  everyone is welcome.  Please email me if you plan to attend.  Thanks!

Student of the Week



11th Grader Eric Cortes is the Student of the Week.  Eric is an outstanding student and excels with all of his high school and college courses.  Eric is involved in many activities both in school and outside of the school setting.  He has been a member of our Academic Decathlon team the past two school years.  Eric also served as a member of the City of Fairfield Youth Commission which serves as an advisory board to the City Council and works to improve the lives of Fairfield youth.  
Senior Sunrise
The ECHS Senior class and staff got to campus today at 6:00 am to have breakfast together and watch the sunrise at the football stadium.  It was such a great event that the students planned!











Welcome Back Social

After school today we finished out the week with a Welcome Back Social.  The Leadership students put on an event for all students from 3:30-5:30.  Students brought food and games and got to enjoy the great weather and each other's company.  ECHS is truly a special place!

ECHS Back to School Nights It's almost time for Back to School Night. We do things a little differently than other schools.  The ECHS team hosts 3 nights (based on grade level) and provides a presentation for parents and guardians. At the conclusion of the presentation, we open it up for families to ask individual questions to our staff members.  If you are unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be available for families to view at their convenience.  Our first night is tomorrow 8/24 from 6:00-7:30pm for 9th-grade families.  Our 10th-grade night is on 8/26 and our 11th-12th grade night is on 8/31. *Masks are required for everyone inside all buildings at Solano College.   Math Support I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. Freitas' Math class last week.  The students were doing a hands-on activity from our Math Carnegie curriculum and we work in small groups.   We have additional after-school support for students who need Math help every Monday and Thursda

Parent Information Nights Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm here on campus in the 1400 cafeteria building is our 9th-10th grade Parent Information Night. Each teacher will give a short presentation followed by a chance for parents to ask individual questions.  We look forward to seeing everyone from 6:00-7:30pm Monday night!  *11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is on Monday, September 16th at 6:00pm. Student Social Today we held an after school social and had an amazing turnout!  The students enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and just hanging out with each other.  We want to thank the Leadership students for planning such a fun event! HBCU College Fair This Sunday there is a HBCU College Fair from 4:00-7:00pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.  This event is open to all students and we have had multiple ECHS stud ents attend this fair in the past and get admitted into multiple colleges on the spot!  FSUSD Governing Board

 Power Outage Friday morning sure was interesting at ECHS!  We went from extremely hot weather earlier in the week to a colder Friday morning with some rain, lightning, and thunder.  We were without power on parts of the campus for the zero period, first period, and part of the 3rd period.  We did our best by moving a couple classes into the cafeteria, using natural light, and placing emergency flashlight lanterns in classrooms.  I really appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by our staff and students.   National Suicide Prevention Day Friday was National Suicide Prevention Day.  Daily Reminder cards were passed out to students with positive messages.  Students and staff also wore teal and purple to show support.   We are very excited to announce that we will be bringing Kaiser Permanente's Ghosted program to ECHS for the first time later this semester.  Ghosted is a program that reduces stigma and encourages open discussion, to help teens understand they are not alo
