RHS/ECHS Graduation


The RHS/ECHS Graduation will be an in-person ceremony on June 8th at 6:00pm.  Each of the 54 ECHS graduates will get two tickets for their parents or guardians to attend in person as well.  The event will be live streamed for others to watch from home.



SCC Graduation


The Solano Community College graduation will take place virtually on May 27th.  We have 24 ECHS seniors that have earned 1 or more AA degrees!  We are also excited to see many of our Class of 2020 ECHS grads participating in the ceremony as they have now finished their AA degrees.



Valedictorian



Salsala Nasim is the 2021 ECHS Valedictorian! Salsala plans to attend UC Davis in the fall to major in Biological Sciences. She has participated in Speech and Debate and is in Leadership working on the Magazine committee. She has also been a Peer Math Tutor at ECHS since 10th grade. Great job Salsala!



Salutatorians



Jonah San Gabriel is one of our Salutatorians.  Jonah has been a star on the RHS swim team throughout high school.  He has also been the Vice President and President of the ECHS National Honor Society and an active member in Key Club.  After graduation Jonah will attend UCLA as a Biochemistry major.  Great job Jonah!








Veronica Hernandez-Gonzalez is one of the ECHS Salutatorians.  Veronica has participated in activities like the UC Davis Health Equity Academy, Academy of Art's Pre-College Program, and Fairfield PAL.  After graduation she will attend UC Davis as a Chemistry major and potentially planning on minoring in Studio Arts and Education.  She was also accepted into the UC Davis Honors Program.  Great job Veronica!






Aaron Hillberg is one of the ECHS Salutatorians.  He has been a member of the RHS Cross Country and Track teams all fours years.  Aaron has earned Scholar Athlete status and was named the Track and Field Most Outstanding Long Distance Athlete.  After high school Aaron will attend a university and wants to pursue a career in the Computer Science field.  He is also on track to earn three AA degrees from SCC!  Great job Aaron!



ECHS Student of the Year




Maximiliano Gonzalez Barba is the ECHS Student of the Year and was honored at the FSUSD Board meeting last week as one of the FSUSD students of the month. Throughout high school Max has worked two jobs, volunteered at the food bank, and been a student tutor.  Max is a member of the ECHS HOPE Club, Key Club, Honor Society, Academic Decathlon Team, and FSUSD Student Advisory Council.  He plans to attend UC Merced with the goal of becoming a Physician.  Great job Max!




Senior Project Showcase


Every senior at ECHS completes a Senior Project as a capstone activity of the Early College High School program.  At the end of every year we have a Senior Project Showcase event where the seniors display pictures and things from their projects and share what they have accomplished to the younger students, parents, and community members.  This year we are unable to hold a big in-person showcase event.  The students will be presenting their projects virtually in one of our Google Meet sessions.  Our Senior Project teacher Mr. Voyce and I would like to invite parents to attend if they are able.  The presentations will take place 5/10-5/13 and 5/17-5/20 at 10:00 and 11:00am.  If you would like to sign up to attend one or more session please email me at johnpi@fsusd.org.  This is open to parents of students from any grade level.






National Honor Society


The ECHS National Honor Society has organized a donation drive to support Solano County Animal Care.  Honor Society students will be outside by the flagpole to collect drive by pet supply donations or you can drop things off to the ECHS office.  

SCC Flagpole Drop-off on April 30th, 10:30 AM - 3 PM.

Freshmen - Pet toys and Collars
Sophomores - Pet foods and treats
Juniors - Leashes and collars

ECHS Back to School Nights It's almost time for Back to School Night. We do things a little differently than other schools.  The ECHS team hosts 3 nights (based on grade level) and provides a presentation for parents and guardians. At the conclusion of the presentation, we open it up for families to ask individual questions to our staff members.  If you are unable to attend in person, recordings of the presentations will be available for families to view at their convenience.  Our first night is tomorrow 8/24 from 6:00-7:30pm for 9th-grade families.  Our 10th-grade night is on 8/26 and our 11th-12th grade night is on 8/31. *Masks are required for everyone inside all buildings at Solano College.   Math Support I had the pleasure of visiting Mrs. Freitas' Math class last week.  The students were doing a hands-on activity from our Math Carnegie curriculum and we work in small groups.   We have additional after-school support for students who need Math help every Monday and Thursda

Parent Information Nights Monday, September 9th at 6:00pm here on campus in the 1400 cafeteria building is our 9th-10th grade Parent Information Night. Each teacher will give a short presentation followed by a chance for parents to ask individual questions.  We look forward to seeing everyone from 6:00-7:30pm Monday night!  *11th-12th grade Parent Information Night is on Monday, September 16th at 6:00pm. Student Social Today we held an after school social and had an amazing turnout!  The students enjoyed playing games, listening to music, and just hanging out with each other.  We want to thank the Leadership students for planning such a fun event! HBCU College Fair This Sunday there is a HBCU College Fair from 4:00-7:00pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church.  This event is open to all students and we have had multiple ECHS stud ents attend this fair in the past and get admitted into multiple colleges on the spot!  FSUSD Governing Board

 Power Outage Friday morning sure was interesting at ECHS!  We went from extremely hot weather earlier in the week to a colder Friday morning with some rain, lightning, and thunder.  We were without power on parts of the campus for the zero period, first period, and part of the 3rd period.  We did our best by moving a couple classes into the cafeteria, using natural light, and placing emergency flashlight lanterns in classrooms.  I really appreciate the patience and flexibility demonstrated by our staff and students.   National Suicide Prevention Day Friday was National Suicide Prevention Day.  Daily Reminder cards were passed out to students with positive messages.  Students and staff also wore teal and purple to show support.   We are very excited to announce that we will be bringing Kaiser Permanente's Ghosted program to ECHS for the first time later this semester.  Ghosted is a program that reduces stigma and encourages open discussion, to help teens understand they are not alo
