End of the 2019/2020 School Year (June 5th)

Today was our last school day of the 2019-2020 school year.  We are so proud of how the students and staff were able to "Finish Strong!"  We had so many students improve their grades, finish credit recovery classes, and stay engaged in their learning all the way to the last day!  The teachers are working on the final grades now and will have them submitted on Monday.  You will be able to see the final semester grades by Tuesday, June 9th.

Student Support
Although the end of the school year is coming to a close, Ms. Mae is working through June 18th and is available to meet with students and/or parents for any academic or social/emotional needs. My last work day is June 19th, but always do what I can to stay connected throughout the summer.  I will continue to check my work email and cell throughout the summer. Please feel free to reach out and I will help in any way possible.

FSUSD Board Meeting
Last night the FSUSD Governing Board honored the 24 ECHS seniors who completed 60 or more college units and earned one or more AA degrees from Solano Community College.  If you missed the board meeting, here is a link to the recording (we are at about the 1 hour and 15 minute mark on the recording).

100% of the ECHS Seniors earned their Diplomas!
I am proud to announce that every ECHS senior has passed all of their required classes to earn their high school diplomas.  The graduation ceremony airs on June 17th at 3:30 and the seniors will come to SCC at staggered times on June 18 to receive their diploma and take a cap and gown photo.  Thanks to the parents who are working hard to make June 18th a special event and arrange for every student to receive a free photo.

Textbook Return/Summer Textbook Check-out
If you have not returned your textbooks, please make arrangements to drop off books on Monday, June 8 or Tuesday, June 9th at the ECHS office from 9:00-3:00.  College textbooks can also be checked out if you make prior arrangements with Mrs. Harris.  Students can email their summer textbook requests to Susanharr@fsusd.org

Senior Awards
Last call for Senior Awards.  Every student has a chance to make their own special slide.  So far we have 55 of the 66 seniors' slides.  Seniors if you didn't make one I am making one for you with your name and senior photo but I will replace it with one you customize if you share it with me by Sunday night.  We are recording the ceremony online Monday afternoon and it will air on YouTube the following Monday, June 15th, at 6:00pm.  The slides that have come in are excellent!  Our students are extremely talented and creative!

2020/2021 School Year
I don't have any new information to share with everyone at this point as far as our schedule for next year.  We are still in the planning stages and getting input from families.  Thank you to those who have completed the FSUSD online survey already.  There is also a questionnaire coming in the mail.  We want to develop a plan with family input that keeps our students health (physical and mental) and safety as our top priority.  We are scheduled for orientation on August 10, first day of Early College High School classes on August 12th, and first day of college classes (mostly online) on August 17th.  I will be sending out more information later in June.

Parent Leader
I want to thank Marilyn Barker for everything she has done for the ECHS program.  Maryiln has helped us get spirit wear, plan events, run the parent facebook group, and get connected with parents in support of all the ECHS students and staff.  Marilyn will be missed by all!  I also want to thank Gina Gonzales who has served as Co-parent leader and has been dedicated to making the ECHS program such a great place that supports all students.  I run a parent group meeting every month and will start back at the end of August.  This group is always open to all parents and is a way for parents to hear about things that are happening, provide feedback, and help plan events.  I will send out more information about the group in the fall.

Class of 2020
As we begin to say goodbye to the Class of 2020, we want you all to know you are now and will always be part of the ECHS family.  We want you to keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.  We also plan to invite you back to a Senior Sunset event/reunion in the spring.  Please feel free to email or call me in future if you ever need help with anything.  We wish you all the best as you begin your life after high school!
