1st Week
What an Amazing Week!
Monday, August 8th: ECHS Orientation
It was such a pleasure meeting so many students and parents at orientation. As I discussed, the goal for Early College High School is to ensure every student graduates prepared to enter a four year college with several college courses and requirements already completed. I am committed to working with the students and families to make sure they navigate through the program with success.
As Early College is a voluntary program, there are high expectations for all. Students are expected to behave at all times, attend all their classes, and maintain a grade of "C" or higher in all their high school and college classes.
Everyone should have our staff directory, attendance procedures and policies, class time schedules, and school calendar. Please email me if you need an additional copy or any further information.
Wednesday, August 10th: First Day of School for ECHS
What an exciting morning! I was able to greet the students as they arrived on the Solano College campus. The ECHS staff helped the students find their classes and made sure everyone arrived on time. I was fortunate enough to visit each of the classes and am looking forward to the continued visits throughout the year.
Ms. Williamson's College Readiness class started the year off strong with a writing assignment on the first day.
Ms. Freitas helped her Math students use their Chromebooks to access the Google classroom.
Ms. Smith reviewed her expectations for academic excellence with her English class.
Mr. Voyce led his Science students on a tour of the campus.
Friday, August 12th
Friday was a very special day for me as I welcomed my new daughter Kylie to the family.
We are now a family of five!
Week 2: August 15th - 19th
We are looking forward to a special second week of the school year. ECHS students will start their college courses on Monday. The outstanding Early College teachers have been working tirelessly to make sure all the students are prepared to be successful in all their High School and College classes.
