It's official! We are expanding the ECHS program and will be adding up to 68 more students next school year. The freshman and sophomore classes will be close to 100 students each and we will eventually grow to our new capacity of 400 students. We really appreciate the partnership between the Fairfield-Suisun School District and Solano Community College. There is such a high demand for this program and we had over 170 students apply for next year's 9th grade fall admission. With this increase of students, we will be adding two new teachers next year and one additional teacher each of the following two years. The ECHS program is in its 6th year and we are very proud of the success we have had so far and look forward to an amazing future!
Video Game Week
Video game week was a hit! Each day students got a chance to participate in a competitive Smash Bros tournament or play Mario Kart for fun. The week ended with the consolation and finals on the big screen in the lecture hall. The championship team was 11th graders Andres Ortiz and Jonathan Sanchez.

US History
The juniors participated in a gallery walk this week after learning about the Great Depression in US History class. The students were tasked with teaching their peers about a topic in which they became specialists. The topics included the Harlem Renaissance, Influential Artists, Transportation, Mass Media, Sports, Consumerism, and more. Ms. Nance reported that she was proud of the students for their excellent work!
Student of the Week
Our student of the week is 12th grader Nathan Garza. Nathan started at ECHS at the beginning of 11th grade. Since he has been here, he has excelled in both his high school and college classes. Last semester, Nathan earned a 3.86 GPA. He is a scholar athlete and plays for the RHS Varsity baseball team. On Wednesday, Nathan got two hits, scored a run, and led the team to a 2-1 win over Lincoln High School. Great job Nathan!

Last Friday we took our school panoramic picture and a senior class photo. Students can still purchase the picture through Collegiate Studios until the end of the day on Tuesday, March 10th. We have order forms in the ECHS office.
The ECHS Magazine is our version of a yearbook. The students are working hard on this year's addition and it includes a lot of great memories from throughout the year. The magazine can be purchased for $25 in the ECHS office (the price will go up in April after Spring Break).
