Important Dates With no school on Labor Day, we will have a special schedule for Tuesday, 9/5/17. We will use the Friday class schedule that day to make sure we get every class in for the week.  Students who have a conflicting college class will need to check in with their high school teachers to get the work, but their absence will be excused. Here is the schedule for Tuesday Sept. 5th. 1st Period 8:00 – 8:50am 3rd Period 9:00 – 9:50am 5th Period 10:00 – 10:50am 2nd Period 11:00 – 11:50am Lunch 11:50 – 12:50pm 4th Period 1:00 – 1:50pm 6th Period 2:00 – 2:50pm Early College does not have a traditional Back-to-School Night as other schools in the district do, but we will have Parent Information Nights next month. 9th-10th grade Information night will be on Wednesday, Sept. 13th, at 6:00 at Rodriguez High School in the library. 11th-12th grade Information night will be on Wednesday, Sept. 20th, at 6:00 at Rodriguez High School in the library. 1,157 Transferable College Units

Our 12th grade students have already earned 1,157 transferable college units!  Just counting our senior class of 37 students, that is an average of 31 units per student earned by the end of 11th grade! Our senior class is gearing up to apply to four year colleges this year. They are sure going to have a lot of college units already completed when they get there. I had the pleasure of visiting the Senior Project class today.  Mr. Voyce was leading a discussion about what makes a community. Students were discussing and writing about the different communities of which they were a part.  I am so excited to see what projects the senior will be starting!  A few students have started to share ideas with us, and they sound great! Next week students will be doing some reading and research in order to continue to find ideas for developing their senior projects. Aug. 11, 2017 Dear Early College Community,                          It was a pleasure and an honor to welcome so many parents and students at our Early College Orientation last week.  This has been an exciting first week back.  We welcomed our 68 new 9 th graders to Early College.  Every 9 th grader and new ECHS student has been assigned a Pegasus Mentor.  The student mentors have been checking in with the new students to make sure they find their way around campus, get their college textbooks, and support them with any questions they may have.                        School Counselor Ms. Mae and I have been meeting with students to make sure everyone is signed up for college classes that are appropriately integrated with each student’s four year plan.  We appreciate your understanding as it can be a challenge as many of the classes are offered during conflicting times in the student’s schedule, at times waitlisted, or even cancelled.  We work hard to make sure students ar
